patents via PCT
The Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) has been in force since 1978 and now covers nearly 140 countries. The aim of the treaty is to offer a simple and relatively cheap procedure for the protection of inventions in multiple countries at the same time. A single patent application along the PCT route can potentially offer interim protection to an invention in all the treaty countries. At a later stage this international patent application procedure can be continued in one or more countries in order ultimately to acquire a granted patent in that country.
All registered and qualified Dutch patent attorneys are also qualified to advise on PCT applications and to draw up and submit applications. See also http://www.wipo.org/.
